the jellyfish is back! Sadly, the end of the holidays is approaching, but happily, it's the end of the wretched Hwa Chong Chess Cup! ^^

1. March holidays

Sat 13th - Went out with SY to the IT fair in Suntec

As the name suggested the activity and the place, we just went to see around, cos SY wanted to buy some random headphone or something, but in the end was not bought, due to super overcrowding... The experience was not as good as i had expected, too many people, half the time u must smash through obstacles and when u want to look at something, the crowd will push u like flowing water. So oh well!

After that we went to Swensen's for sundaes and fries, cos i wanted to celebrate vectors test get full marks (which is damn rare, LOL!)

I didn't know the toppings were optional, otherwise i would not have ordered. T_T

SY's is the mint and chocolate, it looks more like 2 of the topless 5 ice-cream rather than a sundae though.

The fries is quite ok though, just the right texture, the sweet chilli and tartar sauce were good! :D Should try it, but it is $5.50, so try to share with someone.

Talked a lot of rubbish while eating the sundae, from school life to homework to relationships to dinner to bla bla bla... SY kept laughing at my failure to behave in a 'high-class' manner. =.= Just because the chair refuse to budge, dosent mean i stone there rite?

After that i bought a pretzel (the premium one which has cinnamon and raisins), haha is extremely nice! I tink the butter taste and cinnamon goes well together! Actually i thought that is a medium pretzel, then after i found out is premium, oh well! Walked in Toysrus after that, and saw a few teddy bears (hmm maybe Tean will like that?) which are quite big and fluffy lol! After walking out, i realise that there actually is a mini-event, but somehow nobody is there, and so the organizers look bored... O_O A good saturday to walk, since like for the past week cooping in school / home studying and mugging. ^^

Sun 14th / Mon 15th - Playing Maple

Stayed at home and played maple, there is nothing interesting.

Tue 16th - Geog Day

Went school for geog, then went subway to study a bit of granite. Seriously i still don't get the point of studying this subject. Oh well!

Wed 17th - Physics Day

I thought chess was on Wed, so i waited from 6.20am to 8am, then like wth nobody!? So studied physics with Farah, WL, War, Defa. Learnt a bit about DC, while being bombed by War's G field questions. At night, Ace called me and told me is on Thursday 18th, i almost screamed in fury.

Defa bought a random dessert!

Thur 18th - Chess Day (Part 1)

Played Chinese chess in the morning, near evening went to study maths with Defa, WL and War. Around 7pm go Yew Tee eat dinner with RJ, actually wanted to eat hokkien mee, then found the food court closed down! T_T So in the end, we went to eat western food.

It just so happened i had only $3.80 left, and the food court has a lot of $3.80 food. So i tried the fried chicken drumstick butter rice for $3.80, while RJ tried fish and chips!

The chicken is nice! Imagine KFC original recipe chicken in a crispier version! I don't really like the butter rice though... RJ said the fish and chips is nice, should go try one day!

Here is to Defa for studying maths: "How Defa? Can do?"

Fri 19th - Chess day (part 2) / ROD Dinner

Played chinese chess in morning, went for ROD Dinner in night. Shall elaborate in later parts.

2. HC Chess Tournament!

Day 1 -

Met early morning with 11 other people at CCK bus interchange.

Hwa Chong is damn big, for some reason. So we climbed loads of staircases up, then we went in the room. My first impression, a big illegal gambling venue.

So like a lot of schools reached, and so I looked around, then realised the HC chess tournmanet consists of CC, IC and Bridge. I wondered why ZY nt there, LOL!

then finally round 1 started. I am in PJC team C.

R1 - VS IJ.

Feel like smacking the guy, i took one chess piece, havent even confirm on where i want to move, intend on putting down then slowly move, then he say cannot take back. Like wth? I didn't even want to move there!

Next time if have such thing, i should touch all my pieces, then can everything move at once. XD

R2 - VS NYJC

The guy i played with is a humourous guy. I tink i laughed more at his jokes than thinking about wad piece should i move. Made wrong move, lost to him, but oh well! It's a friendly game ^^

Halfway through the game, someone shouted the 'Fxxx' super loudly, until the whole room could hear. Everybody is like "wa power seh". Dun tink is a stranger shouting, cos all strangers should be in the chess room. Hmm...

Hwa Chong people are so civilised. ^^

Day 1 lunch - yuck.

I still tink PJ's PCC competition lunch is much nicer than HC's, they should improve on their food.

R3 - VS CJ

A good game with a friendly guy, and somehow i managed to use the chess tutorial... I tink he and me have a common interest, be more interested in other things than Chinese chess. I like! ^^

R4 - VS AJ

I finally saw someone who has the REAL 'i want to hit your face' look kind of person! After i looked into the mirror, i realise i look so much more friendly. ^^

Anyway this AJ guy is a china guy, so i tink his brain should be kind of straight. Cos like the IJ guy, i was wondering wad move to move, then i anyhow touch a piece, then i realise i would be killed! So i like anyhow turn 1 big round and move back (although i didnt even put a final spot). So he is like, "can meh?" and proceeded to ask around (oh disturbing many people in the process). So i am super fed up of him asking, so i just moved my next move, and by the time he ask, it is already 2 or 3 minutes gone.

He can't do anything except to ask me not to do it again. Ar too bad! I have no sportsmanship. Screw Chinese Chess. =P

Sick of playing with him. And that concludes a horrible day 1 at HC!

After that went to Lot 1 to study maths with WL, War and Defa. It feels so much better to be with real humans than people with 'thoughtful' looks.

Day 2 - HC Chess / ROD Dinner!

R5 - A walkover

Slacked for the 1.5 hours. How fun could it get!

R6 - VS ACS (I)

Another good game with a china guy! I tink we seemed quite nervous, but played quite long, learnt a lot of tactics in the game, and also learnt that time is very important. I tink i learnt the most from this game, compared to other games.

Lunch was considerably better than the previous day's. But still not very nice...

R7 - VS PJ

Like wth? I just gave up totally, nt interested in playing. Is a draw game anyway.

R8 - VS ACJC

Both teams are very tired, and therefore out of 4 games, 3 were a draw, the other 1 lost to AC, oh well! Slack games, i like!

And the wretched competition ends here! Grats to HC (Team A) which got first!

ROD Dinner!

Didn't stay overnight.

The food was ok, i like the eclair! The chocolate filling burst inside the mouth! ^^

The rest of the food was quite dry, but i believe coming back is for the atmosphere and see how many alumnis / juniors u still remembered!

Oh well! For the dinner, i didn't talk much anyway, ate alone, and spent much time doing vectors in an emo spot! Oh, i found out that BP has a Good News Cafe, somehow the price for the pastries is 10cents more expensive than the one in PJ... If nt the rest is about the same.

After dinner, talked to Marissa and Eng Yew about a lot of random rubbish. From food to PJ life to BP life... Quote somebody, i talk a lot of random rubbish, no wonder i score Distinction for my O and A lvl Chinese! XD

Randomly saw SY in school at around 9pm? Apparently he was summoned by William to accompany him. Marissa asked whether he was from S20, then i like "wth how do you know?"

She saw the class from his shirt, i totally diao-ed. =.= Eng Yew and Marissa has a random no f-words, but ph-words instead. Seems like PH is going to be famous! haha! Ok that was lame, and once again i added another 2 sentences of crap.

SY said we shouldn't be studying too hard. Because as almost all physics student knows, efficiency = (useful output / [Total output + Total input]) If we input too much content and not generating anything useful (cos we didn't score in exams?), the demoniator increases, therefore efficiency decreases. =.=

Ok then! End of the post! Should be posting random pictures someday, somehow. Haha.
