the jellyfish is back! ^^

After a very long good fun week, tonight must go back to the cold, cruel reality of saving lives, seeing drunkard ppl at weird hours of the morning. Good things must come to an end, so oh well! At least this block leave is more worth than the previous ones... haha! ^^

So anyway, posting about the block leave events! =P

Mon (3/10)

It was a bright and beautiful morning, and i online fb to check how many ppl complained about their lives and about booking in, when I saw Marcus' post.

"Well.. It feels fucking good to be at home while all mother fuckers are going to start work now!!! 3 days VL!!! woooo!!"

7 days sia for me sia, double the price ar! So anyway we decided to call up JM and go for a walk in the afternoon. Went to AMK hub to watch Johnny English again since JM havent watch before. A bit hungry after the movie, and we dropped by a random ulu Jap restaurant near the hub. Forgot the name.

Ordered a saba fish bento for $3.90, along with free flow of hot green tea. The taste of the fish and rice was nt bad, the salad tasted horrible, esp the sauce. Then again, $3.90 for such a combo isnt easy to find in SG, so maybe the quality balances up the price ba, haha. JM ordered some egg rice and Marcus ordered curry udon, both had the same comments abt me, quality for price. Hmm~

The next stop was NEX, where I did the CA exercise. O.O

Walked around, while trying the cheese egg tart which Marcus recommended. Ok la... Talked about life and then proceeded to the library to read some random comic books to kill time. Saw a lot of ppl mugging, and was strongly reminded of JC life, where I and War mugged a bit at lot 1. Where got time sia! =P

Shopped a bit at comics connection which i didnt buy anything as usual. Home sweet home after that, which concludes the end of day 1.

Tue (4/10) - Marcus birthday

A day of stoning at home. Wanted to go station to settle a lot of rubbish, but David isnt around, so heck care, haha.

Wed (5/10)

There was supposed to be a makan outing, but in the end only me, Marcus and JM went, as usual~ Lol! Went to a korean BBQ restaurant to have a buffet lunch. The place is at Centerpoint, unit #04-13, I think? :D

The place was a bit dark, but definitely cosy with the black tables and red sofas. Didnt really feel the air-con, but it was nt as hot as other bbq places. We got the table nearest to the main door, and thus can see many diff customers from different countries. The ordering style was quite unique, as we use a pencil to mark the items we want and pass it to a waitress. They will then give u the raw / cooked food u ordered.

[Most places are self-service or just clip the tag to ur plate of raw food and pass to the bbq section]

Appetizers

Onion pancake - Very crispy and fragrant! Not very oily also, haha~
Cooked slice pork - Very tender! The taste was nt bad. ^^
chicken ginseng soup - very cocentrated, and nt very bitter

Main courses

Chicken
Dory fish
mid-chicken wing
pork
beef
oyster sauce veg
egg fried rice

Nothing much about the meat, probably because the taste is about the same as other BBQ outlets. The egg fried rice and oyster sauce veg are very nice though!

desserts

Coconut cake - taste like those coconut kueh, the taste is seriously concentrated and sweet, really very nice! ^^
Sago - Ok la, like normal leh.
Watermelon - ...

I think around $24 per person for a weekday lunch, nt bad sia. Can come and try again in future, must order more of the onion pancakes. ^^


After lunch, we walked to Plaza Sing and look at the random stores again. Nothing really interesting, should have brought Aaron along as he would be a 100 times more fascinated about the cosplay and knives. =P

Thur (6/10) - JM birthday

The day started out by helping my father until afternoon. Met up with JM and Tean at lot 1 food court. Chatted a bit about life, tasting JM's strawberry macroons (this time got a lot sia), and complained why me and Tean's leaves have to be spent in a hospital. =P

Proceeded to NUH after that by our own means. (not by ambulance) Never really get to see NUH as the nearest hospital in woodlands and yishun is usually KTPH. Some things are really fascinating though.

1. The toast vending machine

I saw that in TTSH, but never really get the chance to use it. Me and Tean bought a '2-sandwich combo' for $4.50. I tried the pineapple and chicken sandwich, which was really rather filling. Just press the combo button, wait for 90 seconds, and then 2 hot sandwiches would just pop out, very interesting. ^^ Paid $2.50, quite worth it, if only KTPH have this vending machine.

2. Circle line MRT station

If only JM delayed his checkup for 2 days, then we will have a faster ride home, but nah. So next time travelling to NUH would be really convenient. :D

3. Starbucks

It must be extremely random to build a new Starbucks outlet in a hospital. However, the outlet is really hot and stuffy, unlike the usual shopping mall outlets.


How sad sia, to spend your birthday in a hospital, but at least got company. So throughout the long wait, just chat with Tean about life while waiting for JM to check his injury. Apparently it is more serious than we thought, something about ligament tearing? After the hospital trip, returned a P3 casualty by taking a cab home. ^^

Camped at my house while playing traditional board games. Ordered Sapprino's pizza (cheese sticks, macaroni cheese & some random herb-flavoured pizza which i forgot the name) for dinner. The size is so huge until we asked my parents to join in the pizza fun. My father commented that macaroni on a pizza is seriously anyhow. Haha! ^^

The cheese stick is really soft, but can really taste the cheese flavour. The macaroni cheese pizza is ok la, nothing really special about it. The herb pizza is rather fragrant? Hmm~

Tean left at around 9pm, while me and JM continued to play monopoly all the way until early morning, we slept for a few hours and continued to play until about noon, and then he went home. Got the remaining few macroons at home to enjoy! Thanks and happy birthday JM~! =D

After JM left, rested at home alone. Need some personal time ya? =P

Sat (8/10)

Went to watch Legend of the white snake with War and WL at JP. The movie is extremely funny and the animation is rather good. The storyline is a bit anyhow though, which I have no idea whether does it tally to the real legend in books. Surprisingly War had the best knowledge about the book legend, so he complained it is boring.

During evening, we went to Fortune Cuisine (The place where we ate before my enlistment) for dinner, since War felt like eating although he had a buffet lunch in the afternoon. Sometimes, going to locations without PH is really like going to a random place without a map. We took 284M and took 1 round back to Clementi station, wasting 20 mins and 26 cents along the way. In the end managed to find it, and we realised we were the latest to reach among all the bookings (4 only).

Ok la, the food is about the same, except me and War spammed a lot of mushrooms, while WL spammed a lot of drinks. The mood of eating is really different and better compared to last time before enlistment. :D

PH should have come along, the dinner would be more lively, he was busy painting submarines and battleships at his camp though.
